| Our office hours are from 7:30am to 6:00pm EST (7:30am to 8:00pm EDT). Medium intensity runway lighting is pilot activated by 5 clicks in 5 seconds on our unicom frequency of 123.075. We have 24-hour self-serve fuel access, a full selection of charts and plates, and a variety of pilot supplies.
There are trees near both ends of the runway. Route 50, a six lane interstate, crosses just under the approach end of 18, but is not a factor if you stay on the glide path provided by the VASI. There are high tension power lines just west of the field. They pose no problem for 36, but landing 18 requires you to dogleg the final approach. The lines are easy to see and well lit at night.
For those of you who are instrument rated Freeway has a VOR/GPS approach straight in to 36 and circling to 18. The minimums are 660 and 700 respectively. Refer to the appropriate Approach Plates for the most current information. We are listed in the Plates under "Mitchellville." |
